Kindergarten Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year will open soon
Kindergarten eligibility age requirement – Age 5 on or before August 31, 2026
See below for required documentation that will need to be uploaded while registering your student. All registrations are done through the online registration portal You will not be able to proceed in the online registration without ALL required documentation. Students need to be FULLY enrolled before receiving a kindergarten screening link. Screening will take place in May. Kindergarten orientation will be held in early September prior to to the first day of school.
Ashburnham Westminster Regional School District serves the towns of Ashburnham and Westminster Massachusetts. The Kindergarten programs are located at the following schools:
- John R. Briggs Elementary School - Grades PK - 5, Ashburnham
- Meetinghouse School - Grades PK - 1, Westminster
** All registration information and accompanying documentation MUST be received before your child may attend screening and start school. **
** If your kindergarten eligible child is CURRENTLY attending AWRSD's Learning Tree Preschool, you do NOT need to register them for Kindergarten. **
Kindergarten Registration Procedure
- School enrollment is based on town of residency
- Gather the required information indicated below (these documents will be uploaded to the registration portal). You will not be able to proceed in the registration process without uploading required documentation.
- Proof of Residency Form (One document from each column is REQUIRED)

□ Record of recent mortgage payment (or if home no longer has a mortgage, a copy of the deed) AND/OR property tax bill |
□ Utility bill or work order dated within the past 60 days showing town address and name, such as: Gas bill, oil bill, electric bill, home telephone bill, cable bill, excise tax bill |
□ Valid Driver’s License |

□ Copy of current lease (including SHA and HUD leases) AND record of recent rental payment |
□ Bank statement dated within the past 60 days |
□ Valid passport |

□ Residency Affidavit from Landlord affirming tenancy AND copy of current utility bill in the landlord’s name OR record of most recent rental payment OR canceled check from rent payment |
□ Current vehicle registration of vehicle registered within the past 60 days |
□ Military ID or other government-issued photo ID |

□ Section 8 Agreement |
□ Excise tax bill within the past 6 months |
□ Valid MA photo ID card |

□ For all new construction, must provide a Certificate of Occupancy |

- Original Birth Certificate (a hospital birth certificate will not be accepted)
- Current immunizations and a recent physical (within 13 months).
- Copy of custody/legal documentation as it relates to the student (if applicable). Without documentation, the school cannot withhold any school related information
- Copy of student's most recent IEP/504 (if applicable)
- Complete online registration/upload required documentation in Registration Portal.

- A student may be enrolled by a parent, foster parent, caseworker or court-appointed legal guardian.
