Our annual Dress Up Day Parade is scheduled for Friday, October 30 at 9:00 AM. Just like in previous years, students will start to walk from the PreK playground area, then they will use the back road behind the school to walk past the gym. Finally, they will go down the back road and take a left back to the main school entrance. Please use the link below to see the route mapped out.
We encourage parents who want to view the Dress Up Day Parade to stand on the sides of the back road, leaving the pavement part of the road for the students to walk.
Please note that we do not allow face paint, full masks, or weapons during the school dress-up day. Most students end up changing out of their costumes at some point if they are too hot or restrictive, so sending an extra bag to hold the costume will be useful.
On a final note, please do not park in the bus lane against the school. Our PreK parents will be dropping off students at 8:45 in that lane. It is also our fire lane, so it must stay open and unblocked. Parking along Williams Rd. in either direction is suggested.
If the weather is poor, we will update folks about the parade. We will make this call by 7:45 AM.

We are currently gathering prize donations for our December Outdoor Classroom Calendar Raffle! Proceeds directly support our 5th graders' trip to Outdoor Classroom this May.
If you own a local business—or work for a company that might be willing to contribute—we would be incredibly grateful for your support! Popular donations in past years have included gift cards, restaurant vouchers, a 1-hour massage, a furnace cleaning, and other services. Most donations of any sort are appreciated.
If you're able to donate, please email nnorth@awrsd.org.
A huge thank you to everyone who has already reached out to support our students!

Kindergarteners are doing a great job singing their special song “I’m So Glad To Be Here”, and learning the Takadimi rhythm syllables that the big kids use on the hand drums, while learning the song “Land of the Silver Birch”. Classes are now beginning to use rhythm sticks as well! Ask your child to sing the “Chocolate Cookie” or “Land of the Silver Birch” song for you!
1st and 2nd graders have been learning/reviewing a fan-favorite song, “Señor Don Gato”. We have also been reviewing and playing our Takadimi rhythms on rhythm sticks and hand drums! Classes have been busy “decoding” rhythms, which is when students figure out which rhythms the teacher or other classmates are playing! Classes will soon begin to play songs with Boomwhackers, which are color-colored plastic tubes that play different pitches.
3rd, 4th & 5th graders are busy finishing up with composing their own rhythms and playing them all on rhythm sticks while traveling around in a rhythm circle. Some classes have completed our Autumn Rhythm Matchup activity & listening quiz. Students will soon begin to play xylophones and metallophones, to practice reading and playing pitches on a musical staff.

Dear JRB Families,
I hope you and your families are having a wonderful school year so far! As your school nurse, my goal is to help keep all our students healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
Throughout the school year, our health office uses a variety of everyday supplies to care for students who visit with minor injuries, illnesses, or other health needs. We would greatly appreciate any donations families may be able to provide to help keep our health office stocked and ready to serve our students.
Items Needed:
- Tissues
- Paper towels
- Paper cups
- Unscented baby wipes
- New, unopened children’s socks and underwear
- Water Bottles
All donations are completely voluntary and greatly appreciated. Please do not feel obligated to contribute. Every donation, big or small, helps us provide a comfortable and caring environment for our students.
Thank you for your continued support, kindness, and generosity. Working together, we can help keep our school community healthy and happy!
Warmly,
Nurse Cassie
