Greetings from Oakmont Regional High School!

We are excited to invite you to join us this Thursday, November 15th from 5:30-7:30 PM to explore your future High School.

Whether that means checking out some of the many things going on throughout the building (See below), wandering the halls checking out our Outstanding Alumni Wall or Athletic hall of fame, stopping to see teachers or current students to ask them questions about classes and activities you may be interested in and want to learn more about, or simply getting a feel for the building, we hope you can attend.  

When you come in the main entrance, many of our clubs and activities will have tables set up so you can ask questions and get more information.  Don't forget you can check out our  “Oakmont Explorer” table which is the name of our website page where info about the over 60 clubs and activities we offer are listed.

Below we have listed some of the many things you can see on Thursday.  It is broken down by content area.  We will have maps and our student greeters and guides will be happy to show you around.  Just ask.  We have something for everyone.

Art 

Visit the Visual Arts Department! Our vibrant Art rooms (101, 110, 103) and MAC Lab (112) foster creative spaces where students explore drawing & painting, sculpture and digital design, as well as advanced portfolio building towards a career or degree in art & design. Display cases throughout the hallways feature student work, and the exhibition and award posters honor the student successes from this past year. Mr. & Mrs. Barry will show a presentation outlining course offerings and will be available for questions. Come see what current students have been creating… then imagine what you can make!

Business 

Come to the Business Department in 601 to play the “Stock Market Game”

How well do you know the stock market?  Can you pick some winners? Visitors will be introduced to the “Stock Market game” that students participate in during Personal Finance Class.  

Health & Physical Education 

Health and Fitness teachers will be available to talk about the course we offer including our newest  Mind & Body Fitness class.

English 

Stop by to check out Senior Honors/Contemporary Literature Projects

Staff will be showing grade 9 & 10 projects and  available to answer questions about these classes and our curriculum.

Math 

The math department will be available to answer any questions you may have. 

Math staff are also available to answer questions about the new Open Up curriculum for Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry.

Music 

The Marching band will behaving an open rehearsal in preparation for the upcoming Ashburnham X-mas parade as well as the upcoming football game performances.

Science 

Take part in the Science Wing Scavenger Hunt!

Social Studies 

Social Studies teachers will be available to talk about their course offerings and running a student led simulation.

Technology Engineering

Stop by rooms 100-108 to see our incredible Technology Engineering department where they make learning fun and engaging!  Come see our video game design lab, CAD lab, manufacturing facility, robotics lab, automated machining/CNC center, and much more!  Talk to the teachers and see what amazing courses are available and waiting for you in Oakmont’s Technology Engineering department. 

World Language 

Drop by to learn more about our language offerings, Check out the French National Honor Society and come view student projects . Also  learn more about the Seal of Biliteracy designation that students can earn on their diploma.

Library

Check out our beautiful space, look at our collection, color, play a game, say hi to the fish, or listen to a record. There’s always tons to do in the library!
