Dear Ash-West Parents, Guardians, and Community Members:
It is with great pride that I welcome you to the 2015-2016 School Year and our newly designed regional school website. I hope that you spent the summer relaxing, finding time for yourself, as well as spending quality time with family and friends. In keeping with one of our core values of effective communication, this website will provide our students, staff, and community members with important information when it becomes available.
As we begin another school year, I look forward to you being a part of our Ash-West Family and hope you become involved in our schools and community. The Ashburnham-Westminster Regional Schools are known for its incredible staff and administrators, with their commitment to excellence. To those new to our school community, we are looking forward to your contributions to our students and team. We are so fortunate to have a school district for which we can be proud of--with students, staff, families and the community coming together to support our mission to create “education beyond the expected..!”
My goal as your new school superintendent is to not only promote learning and drive systematic change within our organizational setting, but to develop working relationships and trust amongst the community and our staff members. I will be visiting our schools, classrooms, school council/PTA meetings, as well as community events to gather information about the successes and challenges of our school district. I hope and look forward to meeting with many of our stakeholders over the coming months at school events or at a Superintendent Coffee, which will be held bi-monthly over the next 3 months.
It is an honor and a privilege to be your new school superintendent, and I am truly enjoying learning about the school district and meeting all staff, students, and the community at large. I am confident that we can build a level of trust and confidence so that we can work together with innovation and creativity in order that each child will develop academically and socially. Have a great school year!
Dr. Gary F. Mazzola, Superintendent of Schools
