This is one of the coolest, hands-on science and engineering programs you will ever do! Come learn how electric circuits work and how to make really great electrical inventions.

In this 10-week workshop, you will first learn how electricity and switches work, learn how to wire series and parallel circuits, and how to solder circuits. You will design your own fancy homemade switches and then you will be able to make your own electric nighttime Frisbee using superbright LEDs.

For you final design project, you will design and build a homemade alarm system for your bedroom to keep out your bothersome brothers and sisters. Once you leave the room, the next person to open your door will be busted! The alarm horn is loud, and believe me – your parents won’t really like it!

Every student will get their own project kit and will be able to take home all the projects. This FUN workshop is sponsored by UMass Lowell’s College of Engineering, and it is free – but if you sign up, please make a commitment to attend ALL of the workshop sessions. Have Fun!
