Selected Internet sites for pleasure and/or summer reading:

Amazon.com has compiled an extensive list of various lists of award winning books, e.g., Pulitzer Prize, Booker Prize, National Book Awards, etc. They also have their own editors' pick of the best books of 2007 here.
Sunday New York Times Book Review -- The 10 best book of 2007, plus lists to other New York Times "best books" lists.

Best Books for Young Adults 2007 is the new list by the American Library Association's Young Adult Library Services Association. Lists from earlier years are here.

The Man Booker Prize, administered by the National Book League in the United Kingdom, is awarded each year to the best full-length novel written in English by a citizen of the UK, the Commonwealth, Eire, Pakistan or South Africa. Past winners included The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje, The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro, Oscar and Lucinda by Peter Carey, and Midnight's Children By Salman Rushdie.
Booklist Editors' Choice presents lists of numerous categories of "best books". The lists are annotated.
The Hungry Mind Review list of the 100 Best 20th-Century American Books of Fiction and Nonfiction. This is "an independent review" alternative to the Modern Library's list.
The National Book Awards are given to recognize achievements in four genres: Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, and Young People's Literature.
The National Book Critics Circle Awards are presented each year to recognize the finest books and reviews published in English.
The Nobel Prize in Literature has recognized the whole spectrum of literary works including poetry, novels, short stories, plays, essays and speeches. Starting off with the first prize in 1901 to the poet and philosopher Sully Prudhomme, author of Stances et Poèmes (1865), the Prize has distinguished the works of authors from different languages and cultural backgrounds. It has been awarded to unknown masters as well as authors acclaimed worldwide.
Notable Books for Adults is a list compiled by the American Library Association. The list includes fiction, nonfiction and poetry, and is annotated.
