Representative Rice visits Oakmont’s Political Discussion Club
Representative Robert Rice (D-Gardner) visited Oakmont Regional High School’s Political Discussion Club on Wednesday, November 29. The students had an opportunity to ask questions and share their political views with Representative Rice. Rice discussed a number of controversial issues with the students, including same sex marriage, stem cell research and MCAS. He also gave the students an explanation of the Constitutional Conventions that have been held recently and expressed his hope that the new governor will address issues such as aid to cities and towns, funding public education (including higher education), and stem cell research. He explained to the students that stem cell research would have medical and economic benefits to the state.
