The College Board -- Founded in 1900, the College Board is a national membership association of schools and colleges whose aim is to facilitate the student transition to higher education. Serving high schools, colleges, universities, students and parents, the organization is a nationally recognized source of essential programs, services, and information in the areas of assessment, guidance, admission, placement, financial aid, curriculum, and research.
CollegeNET -- Over 1500 customized Internet admissions applications built for college and university programs. When applying to more than one program you save redundant typing since common data automatically travels from form to form.
CollegeView -- College search by CollegeView offers hundreds of virtual tours, financial aid and scholarship information, and profiles of over 3,800 colleges.
The Princeton Review -- The Princeton Review offers students a wealth of free and unique resources. Through special student programs and this informative and comprehensive Internet site, students can gather information about tests, admissions, internships, and career programs.
Ready Set Go This site was designed to help you figure out what steps you need to take to finish high school, go to college and get on track for a successful future. It may seem complicated, but if you start early and stay focused, it can happen.
U101 College Search -- U101 has rounded up links to almost 4000 college and university web sites in the United States and Canada. The links usually go to the school's home page. From there you can find information on admissions, courses, degree programs, online education and more. The lists are extensive, but please note that U101 does not offer college rankings.
U.S. News Colleges & Careers Center -- U.S. News is a very popular source of information about colleges and careers, and this site is well organized and easy to navigate.
U.S. Universities & Community Colleges -- This page of University of Texas, Austin Web Central contains links to Web servers at universities and community colleges in the U.S.
XAP -- another source for online admission applications, downloadable applications, and interactive college tours.

Financial Aid Resources --

College Savings Plans Network -- an affiliate of the National Association of State Treasures, provides information and links to state college savings plans.
FAQ: Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Fellowships -- This post is a collection of useful information about financial aid for undergraduate and graduate education.
FastWEB (Financial Aid Search Through the WEB) -- one of the largest and most complete scholarship search on the Internet. It provides access to a searchable database of more than 400,000 private sector scholarships, fellowships, grants, and student loans available to students.
Federal Student Aid Gateway -- the source for free information, guidance and tools for federal student assistance from the U.S. Department of Education's office of Federal Student Aid. The FAFSA4caster tool is available here.
FinAid (the financial aid information page) -- This page provides a free, comprehensive, independent, and objective guide to student financial aid.
Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA) -- features information on low-cost undergraduate and graduate loans, payment calculators, online loan applications, and material on the U.Plan for prepaid tuition and the U.Fund for college savings.
SallieMae's College Answer -- provides information about selecting and paying for college. You'll find pointers on the entire "Go-to-College" process from preparation to getting loans. College Answer also has interactive tools that enable you to analyze the affordability of schools and compare financial aid award letters.
U.S. Department of Education -- provides everything you'd ever want to know about financing education. You can also get a copy of the federal financial aid form (FAF) and "The Student Guide" by calling 1-800-4FEDAID, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
