Dear Students and Parents of Oakmont Regional High School:
The pages that follow serve as a guidebook and roadmap for our school community. We’re very proud of all that Oakmont has to offer and we hope the information contained in this book will answer any questions you might have about our school.
Oakmont has a long tradition of dignity and respect for all members of our community. In order to ensure that we uphold our values, we need to establish and maintain guidelines for appropriate behavior. We urge both parents and students to pay careful attention to the “Student Responsibilities” section. It’s important that everyone understand not only the guidelines for appropriate student behavior, but the rights that all students have to attend school free from danger, harassment, or bullying.
Students and families who are new to our school will want to take their time and look over our Student Handbook from time to time. There’s too much information here to be absorbed at one time. Please keep it in a place in your home where you can refer to it often. Those students and families who are familiar with our school will still need to look over the Student Handbook with care. It’s always good to refresh your memory, but there’s also new information regarding tardiness, student dress, and dance policies, just to name a few revisions.
Oakmont has a wealth of opportunities, from outstanding clubs and activities, to an award-winning Music Program, to championship sports teams. We try to provide comprehensive support services that enable every student to be successful. Perhaps most importantly, our faculty and support staff are among the best in the country. They’re invested in helping all students achieve their potential and reach their goals, whether those goals include college, the work world, or military service.
We wish you the best in the new school year and urge you to challenge yourself, get involved, and take advantage of all that our great high school has to offer.
Please consult our website often for updated information. If at any time you have questions, concerns, or unanswered questions, please contact us directly.Sincerely,
David Uminski
