Statement of Educational Goals

THE GOALS OF THIS EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY ARE TO:

1. Encourage students to develop respect and caring for themselves and the individual differences of others and help them to recognize a sense of community responsibility.

2. Stimulate and encourage intellectual curiosity and its development.

3. Ensure that the educational expectations of all children, including gifted and special needs, are cultivated.

4. Help students discover unique talents, cultivate aesthetic appreciation, develop imagination, make good use of leisure time, and contribute to the lives of others.

5. Provide equal opportunity for all to make personal growth in all areas of development.

6. Encourage students to create/discover/develop their own solutions in both theoretical and practical situations.

7. Provide suitable, comfortable, safe environments for learning and experiencing, placing value on both forms of education.

8. Support, expand, and evaluate a curriculum that provides opportunities for students to develop and maintain mental, emotional, and physical health.

9. Provide extra- and co-curricular programs which serve student needs and interests.

10. Make the process of evaluation a continuous and meaningful growth experience for students and staff.

11. Provide appropriate levels and courses to meet the students’ diverse learning styles, abilities, needs, and interests.

12. Encourage teachers through a variety of means to keep abreast of new educational techniques, materials, and innovations in curriculum.

13. Endorse and continually improve the school as a community resource center that fosters lifelong learning.

14. Promote a positive educational climate and image throughout the school and community.

15. Encourage a reciprocal relationship among students, staff and the local communities so that there is an exchange of ideas, resources, and skills.
