Attendance Before School and After School Hours

Students who arrive at Oakmont before the buses must report to the cafeteria or library and remain there until 7:20 a.m. Students will not be allowed access to lockers or other areas of the building prior to this time. All students must be in their assigned seats before the 7:30 a.m. bell rings.

Students are encouraged to remain after school to take part in school activities, to use the library, to get extra help from a teacher or to attend an afternoon athletic event. Some students are required to remain after school by the Administrative Office (detentions) and by individual teachers for disciplinary or scholastic reasons. Students in the building after school must be involved in the activities outlined above.

Students loitering in or around the building before or after school will not be permitted. Students found loitering will be subject to disciplinary action. Students in the building after school must be involved in a directly supervised activity. Students should wait for rides in the front lobby only. Students are not to be in the building unsupervised.

Trespassing on school property after hours is a suspendable offense. Trespassing that involves vandalism to school property will be referred to the local police.

Activity buses are provided Monday through Thursday at 3:00 p.m. to transport students to each town center.
