Supplemental/Dual Enrollment
(Limited by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts)High School students, in their junior year, with a 3.2 GPA or senior year with a 2.8 GPA or better and a recommendation from their high school principal, teachers and guidance counselor are eligible to be considered for participation in a supplemental enrollment program between their High School and a State/Community College. However, applicants must meet rigorous eligibility guidelines set forth by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, their High School and the State/Community College, to which they are applying. Seniors in this program may enroll at the College, on a full or part time basis, Juniors part time only. Students in Supplemental Enrollment must have special administrative permission to take courses after 4:00 p.m.
Dual Enrollment courses will carry the same weight as College Prep level courses.
Students may request honors weight by providing the course description and syllabus to their guidance counselor within the first ten days of the semester.
- If the guidance counselor supports the student’s request, the counselor will forward the student’s request to the team leader of the course’s content area.
- At the time of the enrollment, the student should not assume that honors credit will be granted for dual enrollment course work.
- The course must demonstrate work above and beyond college prep course expectations.
- Upon successful conclusion of the course, the student will submit a portfolio of representative work. The team leaders will determine if honors credit is warranted.
