Students and their parents/guardians should give considerable thought to course selections at the time of registration and should make a commitment to that course selection decision. Once students have registered for courses and the master schedule has been completed, it will be difficult to make changes of any kind. This is particularly true within the complexity of the 4x4 semesterized block schedule.
When the school year begins, changes in the students schedule are discouraged. Students must provide a valid reason; obtain written approval from their teacher(s), parent/guardian and the consent of their guidance counselor and administration to change a course. Students have two weeks (10 school days) to make necessary changes without penalty. After that the course grade automatically becomes “F”.
Course withdrawals made after 15 school days in a semester may be recorded in the students permanent transcript and may be recorded as withdrew passing (WP) or withdrew failing (WF) depending on the students status at the time of withdrawal from the course and the principals discretion.
