Rank in class is determined by assigning a weighted Quality Point Average (QPA) ranking based on the final course mark received in all courses multiplied by the quality points assigned (determined by the difficulty of the course). The computation of class rank begins in Grade 9 and continues through Grade 12. Class rank is computed at the completion of each academic year and is available the following September. Only eight courses per year will be considered for QPA. Courses taken at Oakmont will be considered before other courses. A copy of the QPA system is available in the guidance office upon request.

Grade point average (GPA) is un-weighted and is based on a 4.0 scale: 4.0 points for an A grade, 3.0 for a B etc. The grade point average is computed for all courses completed at the end of each semester. A copy of the grade point average is available from the Guidance Office upon request.
