Any student can take this C-Block class. Students perform at Oakmont and regionally.

Class Officers

Advisors are appointed for a class freshman year and follow the class through graduation.

Students lead fundraisers and functions to help raise money for student activities such as Prom, class events and graduation activities. 

Students must run for an office and be elected by classmates. Check handbook for specific class requirements.

Color Guard

Mr. DeMoura

Members work with the Marching Band by choreographing routines for the songs.  They perform with the band at all times and during competition.

Students must audition.

Concert Band

Any student can take this C-Block class. Students perform at Oakmont and regionally.

Drama Club

Students work throughout the year on a number of productions including a class play competition, one-act plays, and a spring musical.

Open to all students - Open auditions for all play parts. Need additional students for set design, stage crew etc.

Forum Literary Magazine

Help screen submissions and produce a publication dedicated to arts and literature

Marching Band

National Honor Society

Mrs. Erickson & Mrs. Phelps

NHS is a national organization which honors and recognizes students for their outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, and character. NHS students participate in chapter activities which support and advance the school's mission statement.

Eligible (Minimum 3.3 GPA, community service, leadership, etc.)  students are inducted in May of their Junior year, and again in October of their Senior year.

Eligible students will be contacted during their Junior year.

Write about school events, or ideas and issues that interest the ORHS students.

Oakmont Television (OTV) Mr. DeCicco

Write, produce, direct, and deliver the news on Oakmont's cable network, every morning in the studio at Oakmont.

Office Assistants

Mr. Sargent

Assistants work in the main office during homeroom and any other unscheduled time to greet visitors and assist the main office staff.

Open to all students as community service or independent study block.

Peer Leaders

Mrs. Leary

Members lead activities in the high school and middle school about making good decisions and creating a positive environment in school.

Highly selective membership. Students must go through an application process starting in the fall.

Photography Club

This after school activity enables students to learn about photography techniques and use a professional darkroom to develop prints.

Political Discussion Club

Students meet weekly to discuss current national and international political events.

Robotics Club

Mr. Lantry

Members work with students from Oakmont and Monty Tech to build a robot that performs specific tasks. The team competes in the state and regional "FIRST" competition in the winter.

SADD - Students Against Destructive Decisions

Mrs. Fortin

Students work on alcohol and drug awareness campaigns in school, and sponsor blood drives and assemblies.

School Council

Serve on the School Council as a student representative and advise the Oakmont administration about academic programs, the budget, and school policies.

Select Choir

A select group of vocalists perform in school shows and in competitions.

Students take part in Spanish activities such as salsa dancing, field trips, plays, cooking and fiestas.

Student Council

*Students interested in organizing a club for a specific activity may do so by creating a vision statement and goals for their new club or activity. They must secure a volunteer faculty advisor to oversee club activities, and receive administrative approval.
