Chorus	Mr. DeMoura	Any student can take this C-Block class. Students perform at Oakmont and regionally.	Open to all students	Register for Chorus during class registration with the Guidance Dept. in the spring.
Class Officers	Advisors are appointed for a class freshman year and follow the class through graduation.	Students lead fundraisers and functions to help raise money for student activities such as Prom, class events and graduation activities.	Students must run for an office and be elected by classmates. Check handbook for specific class requirements.	Contact Mr. Dufour for more information. Freshman elections are held in the fall, and all others in the spring.
Color Guard	Mr. DeMoura	Members work with the Marching Band by choreographing routines for the songs.  They perform with the band at all times and during competition.	Students must audition.	Contact Mr. DeMoura or Jamie Dumont in the spring/early summer to join for the fall.
Concert Band	Mr. DeMoura	Any student can take this C-Block class. Students perform at Oakmont and regionally.	Open to all students	Register for Concert Band during class registration with the Guidance Dept. in the spring.
Drama Club	Mrs. Couture	Students work throughout the year on a number of productions including a class play competition, one-act plays, and a spring musical.	Open to all students - Open auditions for all play parts. Forum Literary Magazine	Mrs. Feinsilver	Help screen submissions and produce a publication dedicated to arts and literature	Open to all students	Contact Mrs. Feinsilver at the beginning of the school year

National Honor Society	Mrs. Erickson & Mrs. Phelps	NHS is a national organization which honors and recognizes students for their outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, and character. NHS students participate in chapter activities which support and advance the school's mission statement.	Eligible (Minimum 3.3 GPA, community service, leadership, etc.)  students are inducted in May of their Junior year, and again in October of their Senior year.	Eligible students will be contacted during their Junior year.
Oakmonitor Newspaper	Mr. Nevard	Write about school events, or ideas and issues that interest the ORHS students.	Open to all students
Oakmont Television (OTV)	Mr. DeCicco	Write, produce, direct, and deliver the news on Oakmont's cable network, every morning in the studio at Oakmont.	Open to all students
Office Assistants	Mr. Sargent	Assistants work in the main office during homeroom and any other unscheduled time to greet visitors and assist the main office staff.	Open to all students as community service or independent study block.	Contact Mr. Sargent in the spring and register in guidance.
Peer Leaders	Mrs. Leary	Members lead activities in the high school and middle school about making good decisions and creating a positive environment in school.	Highly selective membership. Students must go through an application process starting in the fall.	Contact Mrs. Leary at the beginning of the school year to begin the application process
Photography Club	Mr. DeCicco	This after school activity enables students to learn about photography techniques and use a professional darkroom to develop prints.	Open to all students	Contact Mr. DeCicco anytime during the year
Political Discussion Club	Mr. Uminski	Students meet weekly to discuss current national and international political events.	Open to all students	Contact Mr. Uminski. Club meets Wednesdays after school until 3 p.m. in the Von Deck Lecture Hall
Robotics Club	Mr. Lantry	Members work with students from Oakmont and Monty Tech to build a robot that performs specific tasks. The team competes in the state and regional "FIRST" competition in the winter.	Open to all students	Contact Mr. Lantry at the beginning of the school year
SADD - Students Against Destructive Decisions	Mrs. Fortin	Students work on alcohol and drug awareness campaigns in school, and sponsor blood drives and assemblies.	Open to all students	Contact Mrs. Fortin at the beginning of the school year.
School Council	Mr. Uminski	Serve on the School Council as a student representative and advise the Oakmont administration about academic programs, the budget, and school policies.	Elected office; see Student Handbook for requirements.	Contact Mr. Uminski for more information.
Science Club	Mrs. Rheault	Science Club offers activities for students who are interested in science topics and careers	Open to all students	Contact Mrs. Rheault for more information
Select Choir	Mr. DeMoura	A select group of vocalists perform in school shows and in competitions.	Students must audition.	Contact Mr. DeMoura before auditions in the fall.
Spanish Club	Mrs. Phelps	Students take part in Spanish activities such as salsa dancing, field trips, plays, cooking and fiestas.	Open to all students	Contact Mrs. Phelps at the beginning of the school year.
Sports Managers	Varies	Assist sports teams and coaches by keeping score, handling equipment, and supporting the team.	Open to all students	Contact The Athletic Director or the coach of a team you are interested serving
Student Advisory Council (SAC)	Mr. Uminski Mr. Smith	Members meet regularly with Administration and attend School Committee meetings to share information and concerns from the student body	Students (two from each class) apply and are appointed by the school administration	See Mr. Smith for information about the application process
Student Council	Mr. Dufour	The Student Council represents the student body at Oakmont and brings matters of student concern to the Administration and School Committee, and sponsors numerous events. Yearbook	Mr. Sargent	Help design, plan, promote, write, and take photos for the yearbook.	Open to all students	Contact Mr. Sargent at the beginning of the year.

*Students interested in organizing a club for a specific activity may do so by creating a vision statement and goals for their new club or activity. They must secure a volunteer faculty advisor to oversee club activities, and receive administrative approval.
