1) We will start by making an idea web for our poems, using the Kidspiration software. Mrs. Davis will show you how to make your idea web.

2) Then we will go to Microsoft Word to start writing our poems.

First we will add a title: "Me Poem".

Next we will add our self-portraits. Mrs. Davis will show you how to copy your picture from Paint and paste it into Word.

3) Check how your poem sounds: read your poem aloud to yourself, and use the thesaurus to s-t-r-e-t-c-h for new words.

4) Check how your poem looks: center everything, and check to make sure that each line begins with a capital letter.

5) Print your poem to the color printer.
