Technology is one of four special subject area classes or "specials" available at JRB. Each student has technology class for four days (in a row) out of each 16 days of school. The curriculum is based on the MA Curriculum Frameworks for Instructional Technology. Classes are held in a twenty-four station, networked computer lab that adjoins the library.
Lynne Pinsoneault, the school's Library Teacher, teaches tech/library class to all students in grades K-2. Students work in the computer lab for three out of the four days their class rotates through technology; their fourth day is spent in the library.
Tiffany Davis, the school's Instructional Technology Specialist, teaches tech class to all students in grades 3-5. Students work in the computer lab for all four days their class rotates through technology. During the second half of the year, each student works on a research project that requires both online research in the computer lab and print research in the library.
