Finding Model Web Quests

The Web Quest Page: where it all started, with Bernie Dodge at San Francisco State University. This site includes a web quest about web quests, web quest training materials, a matrix with sample web quests at all grade levels and subject areas, and more.
SESD Teacher Resource Site: over 1200 web quests for all grade levels and subject areas.
Spartenberg County Schools: includes materials to help teachers develop their own web quests as well as sample web quests created by the teachers in the Spartenberg school district.
San Diego City Schools: some good web quests for younger grades (K-3).
Learning & Leading With Technology's Web Quest Links: links to general background information about web quests and links to collections of sample web quests.
Aldert Root Elementary School: more web quests for elementary students.
Kathy Schrock's Guide to Web Quests: including a PowerPoint presentation that you can use to introduce the concept to your class.

Kid Friendly Search Sites

Berit's Best Sites for Children: directory of recommended sites for children up to age 12; each review includes a brief description of the site and a rating out of five (based on content, appeal to kids, organization, ease of use); offers quality over breadth (good for common topics like holidays, animals, etc.).
Kids Click: includes thousands of sites that have been selected, annotated and categorized by librarians; annotation includes reading level of site; geared to students grades K-7.
Yahooligans: designed for 8 to 14 year olds. Offers great breadth.
Internet Public Library, Youth Division: designed for children ages 4-11; sites screened for quality of information as well as appropriateness (information must be current, accurate, and presented in an objective and well-organized manner).

Clip Art Sites

School Image Gallery: find graphics and animations to spruce up your web pages. This site is targeted to educators.
Discovery School's Clip Art Gallery: school related clip art, organized by category.
Microsoft Design Gallery: find graphics, photographs, sounds, and animations to add to your web pages. Search by category, keyword, or media type.
Barry's Clip Art Server: wide variety of graphics and animations, plus links to other clip media sites. Uneven quality.
