Meeting Minutes for November 18, 2004

Meeting called to order at 6:05pm . Attendance sheet is attached.

Treasury Report – Square one art project made approx. $2500.00 and the most recent Lion’s club breakfast to benefit the playground earned $315.00.

Secretary Report - Minutes from the November Meeting were reviewed and accepted with one change. There will not be a representative coming from New England Script a fundraising program, after further investigation it has been found to be a very involved program which we can not do at this time.

Old business

Bring a loved one to lunch – This year we will not require pre-payment of the lunches just a count and lunch choice. Raffle tickets for the Grade level baskets will be on sale.

Grade Level Baskets – Ann will be putting the baskets together at JR Briggs and she will need volunteers to help. She also needs help selling raffle tickets at different events, sign-up sheets will be circulated.

Ice Cat’s – Scheduled for March 12th Saturday night. Overlook and Westminster Elementary will be joining us. Scratch will be visiting the school approximately 3 weeks before hand to promote the event. Then we will need a final head count 2 weeks before the event. There was a motion to accept this date, it was 2nd and then passed unanimously

Avon – Earned approx. $2200.00 we don’t have final numbers yet

New business

RISE Graduation – Program to be completed January 16th and graduation will be scheduled some time after that. We can either do something simple during the day at school or try to do something in the evening at the school or outside of the school, parents will be invited. There was a request for us to fund T-shirts for graduation. There was a suggestion to put the 2005 with all the 5th grader signatures on one side and RISE on the other. We normally offer the 2005 T-shirts to the 5th graders and since every 5th grader is involved with RISE we thought it would be nice to combine them. There was a motion to accept this and cap the cost at $10.00 each shirt, it was 2nd and approved.

School T-shirts - There was also some though about bringing back the school T-shirts and sweatshirts for students to purchase. We could try a design or logo contest to get students involved. We will look into options for that.

Harlem Wizards – The new date is Wednesday, January 5th from 7-9pm at Oakmont in the big gym. We will be able to use the concession stand. We will have approximately 800 tickets to sell which will be split up between the schools. Ticket prices will be $10 for adults and $8 for children. The profit split will be 60% to the Harlem Wizards and 40% to the schools. We believe we can get the 4 hotel rooms that we need to provide to the Harlem Wizards donated. We will be looking for a variety of people to make up the local team. There was a motion to accept these terms on this date, it was 2nd and then passed unanimously.

Spring Bunnies – Another fundraising opportunity was proposed which is selling 6 oz. chocolate bunnies in the spring. They are sold for $5.00 each and the profit to the school is $2.50. We would possibly be selling them the first week of March. We will revisit this again when more time allows.
