The meeting was opened at 10:30am with 7 members in attendance and 2 on
the phone.

Treasurer's Report
Treasurer's report was presented.  Motion was made to accept the

Open House
Open house is on Wednesday, Sept 17th.   Extended Day is holding their
dinner fundraiser.  Tables will be set up for voter registration as well
as the building committee.  The PTA will set up a table in the entrance
under the awning.  We will have volunteer sign ups as well as PTA
membership sign up available.

Packet needs to be reviewed by Candy prior to distribution.
Distribute after Labor Day when Kindergarten returns
Approx 600 folders needed
Raeanne will look into purchasing folders
We have labels.  Paula will see how many to ensure we have enough or
need more.

Fall Family Fun Day
Next meeting is Tuesday, August 19th at 6:15pm in the cafeteria.
This is a combined fund raiser between the PTA, the Enrichment Fund and
Extended Day.
Proceeds will be split 3 ways.  Event is on October 4th.
PTA is in charge of the BBQ at this event.  Please see any board member
if you can help out!
We have a donation for chips.
A donation has also been requested from BJS.
We need volunteers to help run this table (cooking, serving, cashier,
etc).
Paula is chairing the "cake walk" at this event. 
We need to inquire about the use of the cotton candy and popcorn machine
from the hardware store.  Tammy will contact the Hardware Store for free
use of the machines.
Snow Cone machine from Extended Day will also be used.

Building Committee Meeting
Committee would like the PTA to donate money to have an insert in The
Community Journal's August 22nd issue regarding the feasibility study.
The cost would be $482.80 for 7,100 issues (includes graphics and
design).  Copy is due by Aug 12th as the insert goes to print on the
19th.  Motion was made and seconded to provide the money for the insert.
The vote was 5 yes and 4 no votes.
The next building committee meeting is August 20th in the Von Deck
Lecture Hall at Oakmont.
Voting is October 14th.  Cold calls to be made on October 13th to remind
folks to vote.
Visibility is needed through out town on voting day holding signs.

Changes to By-Laws
The VP1 position should be 2 years instead of the current 1 year term,
and the VP2 position should be 1 year instead of the current 2 year
term.  Motion was made and seconded to make the change to the VP
position in the by-laws.

PTA President and PTA Membership Chairperson
Currently the position of PTA president is vacant.  Raeanne Clark is the
acting president at this time.  WE will hold the position open till the
September meeting to give new incoming parents an opportunity to join
and decide to hold a position.  Paula St.Laurent Kuehl was the PTA
Membership Chairperson last year.  She is now

Summer PTA Meeting - Lexington, MA
Raeanne is going to attend this year's meeting in Lexington.
The meeting is August 19th from 6-9pm.

Yearbook
Tammy is going to chair this year's yearbook.  Grynn and Barrett is the
yearbook company.  Tammy is working with Candy to possibly make this an
after school program.

PTA Bulletin Board and Closet
Closet needs to be inventoried and cleaned out.  Meghan and Paula will
clean this next week.
Bulletin Board has been an eyesore for quite some time and we have not
utilized it.  Wendy will fix the bulletin board next week and upkeep the
information we post to it.

School Tool Box
Orders were placed and will be delivered to school for pick up.

The Map of the World
The Map of the World on the front walkway needs to be repainted.  It was
originally painted by the girl scouts a few years back.  We have the
stencil for this.  Raeanne will contact Brenda Brown to see if the girl
scouts would be willing to repaint.

Meeting Closure
Meeting adjourned at 12:00pm.  Thanks to those who came to the Summer
PTA meeting and we look forward to seeing you at the next PTA meeting on
Wednesday, September 10th at 6:30pm in the JR Briggs Library.
