My famous person’s name is James Naismith. He is famous because he invented basketball with a soccer ball and a peach basket when he worked at the Springfield, Massachusetts Y.M.C.A.   The basket ball Hall Of Fame is named for him. He should be in the MA Hall Of   Fame too. He was born in 1861 and died in 1939. He lived in Almonte, Ontario for his whole life.
