Fire up your browser and go to www.awrsd.org/jrb to find electronic copies of the Briggs at Large newsletter; Friend of Briggs PTO newsletters, minutes and agendas; age-appropriate, educational (and fun!) web sites for your children; news articles written by Briggs students; and more. Have suggestions for other information you would like to see on the web page? Email Mrs. Davis at tdavis@awrsd.org!

School Safety

For safety reasons, the main entrance will be locked at 3:45 p.m.  We have a number of after-school activities occurring in our school.  For your child’s safety, we are asking ALL after-school visitors to sign-in and enter through the Extended Day Entrance.

FROM THE LIBRARY…

We will be having a Fall Scholastic Book Fair in the Briggs Library from Tuesday, Nov.30 through Monday, Dec. 6th.  The Book Fair will be open during the evenings of parent-teacher conferences (Dec. 1 & 2).  We hope that many parents will be able to stop by before and after conferences.  Proceeds from the Book Fair allow new resources to be added to the library

As in the past, students will be given an opportunity to visit the Book Fair with their teacher.  Also, a teacher “wish list” will be posted.  This gives parents an opportunity to make a donation to their child’s classroom library.

As always, parent volunteers are needed to work at the Book Fair.  If you can help out, please call Lynne Pinsoneault in the library.

Hope to see you there!

November Student Council

Once again, we are very proud of our 5th grade Student Council.  This month our focus is on U.S. Servicemen stationed overseas.

We are collecting new and used DVDs and VHS videos to send to the Armed Forces to increase their video libraries.  Please consider donating to this cause.

Every student and adult at JRB is designing and sending a personalized Holiday Card to a serviceman stationed in Iraq.  Through a very generous stationary donation from Minuteman Press, Fitchburg we have cards and envelopes for each J. R. Briggs student and adult member to send best wishes for the Holiday Season.
