Education Plan and corresponding budget development philosophy FY09


The budget that has been prepared is much more than a financial plan for the FY09 school year; it is an EDUCATION PLAN which represents the goals which guide the Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District. The strategic plan, Vision for Excellence, identifies six fundamental school and community goals.
 

Budget Goals of the School System
The budgetary goals of the school system which are the backbone of the district's budget as voted by the school committee on December 4, 2007, read as follows.

 

	Goal #1 -Continue with the 5 year capital plan
	Goal #2 -Continue with the technology replacement plan
	Goal #3 -Continue to work towards a balanced budget that supports the Education Plan / Strategic Plan
	Goal #4 -Continue with the implementation of the Curriculum Renewal Cycle
	Goal #5  -Develop projections to anticipate multi-year staffing needs based on demographic study, programmatic need and other assumptions.
	Goal #6 -Advocate for a constitutional amendment that requires complete state funding for all state mandated programs.
