These are the technology skills we will be focusing on:

  • Find information resources on the Web and in the library.
  • Decide which resources are best, given your purpose.
  • Locate specific information within a resource.
  • Take notes in your own words.
  • Use the information you have found to make a persuasive argument.
  • Tell where you got your information.

Remember:

  • *Use your own words--don't copy!
  • *Write down phrases--no complete sentences!
  • *Cite the site!
  • *Take notes on the info in front of you, not from your head!

 

 

Do some searching on your own!

1) Look over the information you've collected so far (Investigations handouts and Life on Mars note sheet) to help you make good decisions.

2) Search the web for other Web pages that can help you answer our  questions: If there life on Mars? How do we know?

3) Add the best web sites to your Favorites list. You need at least four sites. Click here for a "how to" handout if you need help.

4) Use the Web sites in your Favorites list to do more research. Remember to scan for the answers to our specific questions,  and take notes on your note sheet as you go.

  Take a Stand!

Compare notes with other students: Is there life on Mars? How do we know?

Work together with other students who agree with you to create a web page that argues your case. Your web page will include some text, but mostly animation and audio.
