Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast

During the week of Thanksgiving, the Kindergarten classes will have their traditional Thanksgiving Feast. We will have some of the foods that may have been shared during the first Thanksgiving. The children will prepare for the feast by reading stories about the first Thanksgiving and making Pilgrim hat and Native American headbands. Want to learn more about the first Thanksgiving? Check out this interactive site from Plimouth Plantation (slow over a modem, but worth the wait). Don't feel like waiting? Go to the main Plimouth Plantation page--same info, less fun.

Chess Buddies
by 5B star reporters Andrea, Cameron & Brandon C.

This year we have "chess buddies" every Friday with 3G. Some of us go to Mrs. Gagnon's class and play chess and half of the third graders come to 5B. It is really fun. Mrs. Bennett thinks that playing chess gets you better grades because you have to learn to make decisions and plan strategy. Chess Buddies are fun and enjoyable!

Go to the Chess for Kids site to learn more about the rules or to play against the computer.
