OLD BUSINESS
Yearbook
We ordered 215 books.  We received 4 more orders giving us a total of 212 orders.  The yearbooks have arrived at Briggs last week earlier than the agreed upon date of June 11th.  They look good.  The yearbooks will be handed out the last week of school.  5th grade will get their yearbook first at their ice cream social on June 17th.  Then the rest of the school will get them.  We paid G&B $3,313.30 by April 15th and avoided shipping and handling charges.

Staff Appreciation
Staff Appreciation Day was held on Wednesday, May 28th.  Kim Brown returned 7 gift cards, $26.69 left over, receipts, left over curling ribbon, and pens.  A few people helped out Carolyn the morning of the event and plenty of parents who baked goods and/or donated to the event.  There was an overwhelming amount of support from the parents.  In lieu of the goody bag, this year each staff associate was given a Dunkin Donuts gift card with a gel pen.  There are notes in the staff appreciation folder for help next year.

Nominations / Elections for Next Years Board
Motion was made and seconded to elect the following positions.
               VP1 - Meghan Picone
Treasurer - Paula St. Laurent - Kuehl
The board position of President currently remains an open position.  For now Raeanne Clark, 2nd Vice president will be the acting President.  Please contact the PTA if you are interested in the President position.

Audit Committee
Audit Committee will consist of 3 or 4 people; so far, Paula and Meghan and Tammy are volunteering.  They will meet on Friday June 20th at Dan’s house.  For our financial protection, at the end of the year we are required to hold an audit of the outgoing treasurer.  Audit needs to be completed before incoming treasurer takes over.

Changes to By-Laws
Not enough registered members were present to vote on the change to the by-law of how the VP1 should be 2 years instead of the current 1 year term, and VP2 should be 1 year instead of the current 2 year term.  We will have to wait until the summer meeting in order to make the changes to the by-law.

NEW BUSINESS

Operating Override & J.R. Briggs School Feasibility Study
School Building Committee and School Committee were here to go over the Operating Override and J. R. Briggs School Feasibility Study.
Operating Override: The committees are trying to bring the information to people in Ashburnham and Westminster.  Smallest operating override in a few years now.  Committees would like to request of the Briggs PTA to fund the mailing to the registered members of the Briggs PTA to give them the information.
J.R. Briggs School Feasibility Study: This debt exclusion is a one time request from Ashburnham
The town is approved for the feasibility study.  Right now Ashburnham is within the top 50 and if at the bottom of the list it could be as low as number 423.  Committees would like to request of the Briggs PTA to fund the mailing to the registered members again.  Motion was second by 9 members to accept the mailing and emailing of information regarding operating override and feasibility study combined 1 page flyer.

Field Day
Kelly Behringer brought the popsicles for $2.98 for each box for a total of 600.  Kelly made a motion to use an extra gift card to Renee (cafeteria) for letting us use the freezer.  Motion was accepted.  Field day this year is on June 4th and 5th (may change due to weather).
