        Vickie Nims, PTA President opened the meeting with 10 members in attendance.


        Treasurer’s Report
        Treasurer's report was presented.  Motion was made to accept the Treasurer's report.  Report can also be viewed on the PTO Today website.  PTOtoday.com.   You need to log in and register to view the report.

        Access Code to view report is ISB896.
        FOB PTO account has a remaining balance of $9.00.  Motion was made and seconded to close out the FOB/PTO account.


        Secretary's Report
        The Secretary's report was presented. 
        Further clarification for spring fundraiser, cattle Call for fundraising will be presented later in the school year.  Motion was made to accept the Secretary's report.

        OLD BUSINESS
        Fall Fundraiser
        Number of back ordered items.  Warning notices need to be handed out.  Assistance needed on 11/20 to receive, sort and hand out orders.  Merchandise will not be left in the lobby.  About $5,000 profit, specifics will be available at the next meeting.

    Student Directories

        Directories have been delivered.  Extras will be available in the office for sale.

        NEW BUSINESS
        Day at the Movies
        Christmas in Wonderland PG
        December 8th 9:00am

    $5.00 for just the movie and $7.00 for movie and snack. Flyer has been completed and is ready for distribution.

        Motion was made and seconded to send out the flyer. Send flyer to middle school and area pre-schools.

    Mother Son Dance

        Legion said we can utilize their back room which will be closed off from the bar area.  Parking could be a potential issue.  School committee voted to transfer funds so an evening janitor may not be an issue and we can utilize the school.

        Rachel has contacted DJ and will find out if he is willing to DJ at the Father/Daughter dance.  Motion was made and seconded to utilize DJ Matt Thomas.

        Motion was made and seconded to change Mother/Son dance to April 4th.
        Volunteer list will be provided to Rachel.

    Grade Level Fundraiser

        Kim Brown and Tanya Eberlin co-chairs.  Calendars are completed.  Gift Cards will be awarded to Dunkin Donuts, Barnes and Noble, Wal-Mart, Market Basket, Gas Card, Visa Gift Card.    $5.00 for one calendar.  Winners will be contacted via phone and announced in the Briggs At Large.  Gift Card awards are documented on the calendar so parents will know what card is awarded on each day.    Connect Ed announcement will be done to notify parents of this fundraiser.  Calendars will be on sale for the month of December.  Drawings will start 1/1/08.

        Volunteers needed to sit at bring a loved one to lunch and holiday concert to sell calendars.

    Bake Sale at the holiday concert December 19th.

        Last year bake sale was not run by the PTA.  The PTA would be willing to run the bake sale table this year for the Enrichment Fund. We can utilize the PTA bake list.  Motion was made and seconded to run the bake sale table for the enrichment fund.  Becky will contact the high school for tables and purchase the water.  Vickie will call on the bake list.

    Yearbook

        Reanne and Donielle are working on the ads.  Student council is taking pictures.  Vickie has contacted G&B to send out start up kit.  Letter will be sent out soon to reserve add space for the yearbook.  5th grade questions and baby picture requests will be sent out soon.  Yearbook cover is due by 12/1.  Voting was conducted at today's PTA meeting.

        School Council
        School council meeting discussed morning safety issues.  Suggestion was made to install portable speed bumps every 50 feet around the driveway at a total cost of $1500.00.  Extended day is willing to contribute half the money.   Speed bumps can be stored out back during the winter.  Suggestion was made to go every 100 feet instead to reduce the cost.  Speed limit in the parking lot is 10 MPH.    Request was made to table the discussion to the next meeting.

        Uno’s Family Night
        November 29th at Pizzeria Uno in Leominster.   Coupon has been picked up from Uno’s.  Good on take out or eat in.  Would like it open to the public.  Email out the flyer and posted in the Community Journal.   Connect Ed messaging because too late for Briggs At Large.   Should receive funds from Uno’s within 4-6 weeks.  

        Bring A Loved One to Lunch
        Flyer has gone out.  Flyer has to be returned to school for headcount. 

    Skating at Cushing

        Rink has been booked for March.  Gail has not received an answer yet if we can sell our own food at the rink.


        Script Program
        Ordering gift cards from various stores through SCRIP gift card program.  Purchase give card (example Stop and Shop) for $100.00 through the program.  The bonus is that the PTA purchases the cards at a reduced rate and keep the profit.  The card is good for full face value.   The school receives a percentage of sales.

        We would need 2 people to work together on this fundraising opportunity.


        School Tool Box Kit
        Becky has contacted them, filled out a survey, and received base quotes.
