1. Addressing the repair of the Oakmont Track, the Oakmont Athletic Field and the Overlook driveway.

2. Requesting $150,000.00 from each town to fund a Capital Fund.

More detailed information is available from either Laura or Dave and they welcome any and all questions. Laura can be reached at 827-3335.

Old Business

Yankee Candle

The Yankee Candle Spring Fundraiser was very successful. The PTO profit was approximately $7,500.00. We have had three orders inadvertently picked up by the wrong customers. We are asking that everyone double check their orders at home and return any discrepancies. The PTO will be responsible for replacing, at cost, the missing orders.

Mother/Son Dance

The Mother/Son dance on Friday, April 28th, 2006 was a great success. Boys and their guests “boogied” to Beach Boys, Beatles and other “way-back” bands.  The DJ of the evening would like to come back next year with a Family Trivia Night. We’ll keep this in mind for next year’s event planning meeting.

Bike Rodeo

The Bike Rodeo has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 20th, 2006 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. The day’s events will include; bicycle safety checks by Gamache Cycle, bicycle registration and helmet checks by the Ashburnham Police Department, an obstacle course, event certificate presentation, Eastern Mountain Sports station and perhaps a K-9 demonstration. Volunteers are still needed, due to the date change. If you are interested in helping please contact Gail Dumont at either 827-5619 or mummabean3@hotmail.com.

Car Seat Safety Course

The Car Seat Safety Course on Saturday, April 29th, 2006 drew a small but appreciative crowd. Parents were instructed on how to install their children’s car seats. A certified safety instructor checked car seat installations and provided updated information on car seat safety.

PTO and School Council Elections

PTO and School Council election ballots are due back on Monday, May 15th. Election results will be posted in the Briggs-At-Large and perhaps a memo home to parents.

New Business

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Day

The annual Teacher/Staff Appreciation Day is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31st, 2006. We are looking for volunteers to help set up the teacher’s room the night before, set out food in the morning of the 31st (7:00am) and clean-up (1:30pm) after the luncheon is done. If interested please contact Kelly Behringer at 827-6009 or at RFBEHRINGERCPA@comcast.net. Breakfast foods will be solicited from parents. A motion was made, seconded and approved to increase the allotment to $603.75 for the luncheon to be catered.

Spirit Week

Spirit Week will be held June 5th through June 9th. 2006. The themes for the week will be: Monday: Backwards/Inside out Day, Tuesday: Sports/Hobbies, Wednesday: Crazy Hair/Crazy Hat Day, Thursday: Tie Dye Day and Friday: Patriotic Day.

Meeting Closure

Co-Vice President Kelly Behringer closed the meeting at 8:36pm. Thanks to everyone who came to the PTO meetings this year and we look forward to seeing your return to future meetings and the upcoming PTO events. We invite parents, teachers and staff who missed tonight’s meeting to attend the next PTO meetings beginning in September of 2006. If you wish to be removed from the minutes email distribution please let me know.
