Henry David Thoreau is a Massachusetts famous person. He was born in Concord, Massachusetts on July 12th 1817. Thoreau lived in Concord, Massachusetts in a small cabin by Walden Pond and worked as a teacher. He is a Massachusetts famous person because he wrote poems in his journal and later got them published in 1906. He wrote Walden about his life trying to forget about technology and living simple. He wrote the essay Civil Disobedience. He died on May 6th 1862.
